Hi there,
I’m contacting you from the TV production company Remarkable Television – makers of Pointless (BBC One), and Deal or No Deal (Channel 4). We are making a new educational family entertainment show called Spelling Star for Sky1. We are very keen to generate lots of interest and enthusiasm within schools in the UK. I hope you can spread the word to teachers and parents before school finishes for the bank holiday weekend today.
Spelling Star is aimed at all children aged between 9 and 13. The programme follows a number of children as they take on various word-based competition rounds, from speed spelling to identifying incorrectly spelled words, and clue-based questions to relay-style challenges.
It’s a warm-hearted, family show celebrating amazing children at their very best. We also hope it will be a valuable educational experience, promoting reading and literacy skills and engaging them in healthy competition within a supportive studio environment.
