Children need a balance between self initiated play and experiences planned by adults. They need a balance between structured routines and the freedom to explore and learn at their own pace. They need an approach to learning that will respond spontaneously to their emerging ideas, needs and interests. They need situations that challenge them and a chance to revisit and practice skills.
At St Ronan’s we aim to achieve this by providing exciting and motivating play experiences indoors and outside and encouraging the children to initiate their own learning, developing ideas and interests over time.
