Family Stories of the First World War

The centenary of the First World War is being marked at St. Ronan’s with P.6 pupils and their families researching their family history and gathering information, artefacts and memorabilia from this important time in history. Some families are researching the impact of the Great War on Innerleithen and the surrounding area.

All other families across the school and members of the community are also warmly invited to take part in this project.

We will be working with Community Learning and Development tutor Margaret Smail and freelance journalist and creative writing tutor Maggie Elliott.

Information gathered over the coming months will be displayed for the school and the community to see.

A meeting will be held in the school on Monday 28 April at 6:30pm. Please come along to find out more about how you can become involved in this exciting project.
